The 2008 Miss Kanawha County Fair Pageant, sponsored by Charleston Town Center, is open to women, ages 16-22, residing in Kanawha County.
Pageant applications are available at Charleston Town Center's Guest Service Center, online at www.charlestontowncenter.com and at www.kanawhacountyfair.org. Deadline for entry is September 5, 2008.
The pageant, scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008, includes a private interview with a panel of judges, followed by an evening gown and sportswear competition and a question-and-answer opportunity. The pageant will be presented on stage at Macy's Court, Charleston Town Center.
During September, contestants will attend a pageant orientation meeting. The week of the pageant, contestants will be invited to attend a public speaking workshop, modeling seminar, and media luncheon, all presented by Charleston Town Center.
One winner will be crowned and awarded the title of Miss Kanawha County Fair, reigning at the 2008 Kanawha County Fair and throughout the year as necessary. The winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship, a tiara and sash along with a Charleston Town Center Prize Package. First and second runners-up will be acknowledged along with Miss Congeniality.
The winner will also compete in the West Virginia Fairs and Festivals Queen Pageant in January 2009.
